عطار و عرفان دو رشته‌ی به هم بافته‌ایی هستند که تکامل هر دو در گرو دیگری است. در واقع تکامل عطار به واسطه‌ی عرفان است و تکامل عرفان فارسی به ویژه در شعر به واسطه‌ی مساعی عطار است.آثار عطار مجموعه‌ی غنی از فرهنگ عرفانی ما را در بر می‌گیرد که از وجوه مختلف قابل بررسی است. جایگاه مرید ومراد در آثار عطار و نوع تعامل و گفتمانی که با یگدیگر داشتند از مظاهر پر رنگ آثار اوست. از این رو در این مقاله بر آنیم تا در دو اثرش یعنی «الهی نامه» و «اسرارنامه» به نگرش عطار به مقام و منزلت مراد بپردازیم و نحوه‌ی ارشاد مرید را نکته سنجی نماییم. آنچه مسلم است شیوه‌ی روایت گویی و نقل حکایات شاعر می‌تواند در انعطاف پذیر نمودن این ارتباط تاثیر گذار باشد.در همین راستا با رسم جداول سعی داریم چگونگی این ارتباط را نشان دهیم. با عنایت به شکل بیان روایت که در دو اثر تفاوتهایی قابل رصد است به شاخص‌هایی در بین این دو قطب عرفان در این دو اثر دست می‌یابیم.در نهایت وجوه تمایز این نگرش را در آثار فوق الذکر بیان می‌گردد.
