Abstract :
Virtual social networks in Iran, due to the lack of economic and commercial functions, is a space with more cultural, social and political colors and smells. Iranian users are very rare or costly due to the obstacles and limitations in the objective and subjective conditions of their lives and in order to escape from the compelling pressures of social norms in expanding social interactions with others with whom it is possible to interact with each other in the real world. Following the loss of a broad civil society, the public sphere independent of the state and the widespread decline of social participation for them in the real world and to achieve and meet their remaining needs in the real world and also seek new experiences and more opportunities in cyberspace. Living in this space is half a f Al or active experience ;. In this study, we examined the role of virtual social networks on students' cultural and social identities. The main question is whether social networks play a role in changing students' cultural and social identities? Therefore, we examined the variables of social identity, cultural identity, religious identity, cultural and historical memory, cultural geography, Persian script and language, cultural heritage, used the survey method and the statistical population of students was Damavand Islamic Azad University. Kokran's formula was estimated at 337. The measurement tool and the researcher-made questionnaire were estimated to be 0.811 based on Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the research data and the results obtained from the hypothesis test and regression analysis were that there is a significant relationship between using social networks and changing students' cultural identity and social identity.
